This work consists of a series of components that also demonstrate the way of my photographic research on this topic. I started with the idea that people are influenced in their way of looking through the images they see in the media. The state of mind of a person can even be determined by these images. Extreme oppositions as war images of violence are in newspapers often placed next to advertising images of happiness and wealth. This is often very contradictory and make people believe in a world of duality. While reality often is rather one of gray than black and white.
This work is a combination of found footage from newspapers, images I photographed myself, accompanied by contradictory words. By putting contrasting images together, I construct new images. By combining image and word, I want the viewer to think about the line between happiness and unhappiness, good and evil, black and white, and or which exists border?
